I’m having so much fun working with brass! I’m adding some sterling silver accents to these layered brass earrings and figured out a way to make the texture look like spun gold. I was watching the show, The Morning Show, and loved the look of Jennifer Anniston’s gold earrings she wore in an episode. Who can afford gold #earrings #earringsoftheday #earringdesigner #anymore? But I am pretty happy with these brass earrings and that rich golden color that catches the light. The trick with brass is to make it whisper thin…and get soft, organic edges. It takes me a minute to saw them out and to then get this soft look but it’s worth the time! Available in my shop!

Lots of changes this week! First of all, thank you

Lots of changes this week! First of all, thank you everybody for supporting my jewelry biz… I’ve had the busiest February I’ve ever had!! I also installed a pull-up bar and did my hangs this morning. I’m making progress and am now able to hang and pull up about 3 inches. I saw a video describing the correct way to engage my shoulders by pretending I’m trying to snap a stick above my head. Instantly made my attempts more productive. I also got my hair cut in a long shag relaxing my NOW curly hair. I wore a shag when I was a little girl so definitely feeling a cycle again since I’m also hanging off a handle bar in my off time too. I read yesterday that if you can do deep seated squats, crawl on the floor and hang with your body weight you will be fit as a fiddle into your 90’s. That seems doable! I’m having so much fun changing my body to be strong and capable of carrying me into old age. Also, in my 59th year I’ve noticed this is the year where my collagen in my skin has turned to shit. That’s another story for another post. Otherwise, aging is pretty fun!

Today in my class we practiced landscapes. I am pleased with my sky and now I have to work on making the depth of the piece more defined with my values. My instructor gave us a value scale and I can’t wait to practice with it more now that I understand how important value is in a painting!
